This is a standard template provided with the software and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. The academy can replace it at any time from Settings.
What we collect
Universal Chess School collects only what running your classes requires: your name, email address, phone number, country and timezone; your child's chess usernames if you give them; attendance and homework records; and payment references you upload when you pay a fee.
Why we collect it
To schedule and run classes in your own timezone, to let a coach see how a student is progressing, to issue invoices and receipts, and to contact you about your classes or fees. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Chess accounts
If you give us a Lichess or Chess.com username, we read your PUBLIC game history from those sites to build a coaching report. We do not need, ask for, or store any password for them.
Payment information
Fees are paid directly to our bank or UPI account. We store the screenshot and reference number you upload so a payment can be matched to your account. We never see or hold your card details.
Children's data
Most of our students are children. Where a student is a minor, an account is held with a parent or guardian's contact details, and a parent may ask at any time to see, correct or delete what we hold.
How long we keep it
For as long as you are enrolled, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require us to keep financial records.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to us at the address below and we will respond.
